Into The Heart of The Earth

A week long intensive course that blends practical survival skills with Energy based awareness and Shamanic/Spiritual practice

Designed to develop the potentials we carry as human and spiritual beings, this course will help open us to ways of using our awareness and perception that would seem extra-ordinary to most modern humans.

Allowing us to experience ourselves as part of the much greater whole that is the living and natural world, the body of the course is formed from the training of the Apache Scouts. Along with physical aspects of living with the Earth, we will be accessing the deeply altered states required to bring us into harmony with the world around us, tapping into what the Native American call the 'Spirit that moves through all Things'.

Looking at how these heightened levels of awareness, energy and peace can be integrated into our daily lives is a key part of the week.

A journey of initiation situated in a wildwood forest overlooking the South Downs.

With a background as a professional skydiver, Ben has trained extensively with the Tom Brown Tracker School in the States, receiving teachings from Apache Shaman and Scout, Stalking Wolf; with Inuit Shaman, Grey Wolf; and with the Maori.

Old Into New

This course will focus on mining traditional material (folktale, fairytale, myth) to produce something contemporary.

Weather permitting, we’ll climb the Tor to be inspired by the stunning view from the top (if weather doesn’t permit, there are plenty of attractive alternative walks).

Then lunch in the ancient George and Pilgrim inn, followed by writing.

Please bring: a folk story, fairytale or myth to use as your raw material, comfortable shoes for climbing, and a warm jumper or similar for the top of the Tor (it can be very windy up there).

NB myth lovers welcome, but you definitely don’t have to be one.This isn’t a spiritual workshop, it’s all about shaping and crafting raw material.

Sound fantastic? It does to us too.This will be our second May workshop, held in Glastonbury.

The walk and workshop combined will cost £15, with a level of moderate/easy.
